The Belgrade quintet Fish in Oil is led by guitarist and composer Bratislav Braca Radovanović, who was born in Priština, and has lived and worked in Belgrade since the late 1990s. The group has performed in several cities across Serbia, with many musicians changing as its members over the course of its 20 years in existence. Current members gained experience performing with famous Serbian artists and bands (Lala Kovačev, Miloš Petrović, Dvojac bez kormilara, Playboy, Menson Benson Sextet, Eyesburn, Naked…). Their original electric instrumental music is a mix of blues, swing, free improvisation, funk, rock and surf, and partially inspired by atmospheres created by Marc Ribot, Tom Waits and John Zorn. The group released their first album Poluostrvo last year, and they just finished sophomore which will be premiered at the 29th Belgrade Jazz Festival.
