JULIA HUELSMAN TRIO AND TOM ARTHURS
“Julia Hülsmann is a highly imaginative player possessing a rich harmonic language, 24-carat melodic sensibility and incredible rhythmic suppleness,” wrote a critic of the British Jazzwise magazine. The German pianist has been a part of the ECM Records family since the mid-2000s. After two albums with the trio, she collaborated on her latest album with the young English trumpeter Tom Arthurs, who received three nominations for the BBC Jazz Awards and had numerous collaborations with renowned jazz and avant-garde musicians from around the world (John Surman, John Taylor, Jack DeJohnette, Kenny Wheeler, Ingrid Laubrock, Thomas Strønen, Phil Minton, Evan Parker, Tom Rainey…). The joint project In Full View is characterised by an atmosphere typical for producer Manfred Eicher—thought provoking and gentle ambient music for the late hours.
