KLÖKKEBLÖMST
Klökkeblömst is a new band coming from the creative Danish jazz scene. Its members come from a larger international orchestra Danstrup/Reptiles which has thus far released two albums. The trio started playing together in 2012 and they predominantly perform Peter Danstrup’s music (trio’s bassist). Peter’s compositions are, as he describes them, “songs that could have been Danish“ with the music being strongly influenced by the so-called Danish colour, but not the typical melancholic vibe of the “Scandinavian sound“.
All three musicians have already left important marks on the Danish jazz scene. For decades, Peter Danstrup was collaborating with free-jazz saxophonist John Tchicai. With the orchestra Danstrup/Reptiles, he won two awards in 2012 given by the Danish Jazz Federation, namely one for Best Album and one for Best Composer. Anders Banke was a member of the New Jungle Orchestra, Stefan Pasborgs Odessa 5 and Anderskov Accident. Anders Provis also plays in Hess is More, Viper and Band of the Universe.
