Alongside Tomasz Stańko, the masterful pianist and composer Leszek Możdżer is the leading figure in Polish jazz. Since 1994, he has continuously been winning Jazz Forum magazine readers polls for Pianist of the Year. He has also been named the Jazz Musician of the Year four times (1995, 1996, 2011 and 2012). He has recorded over 100 albums, as the leader of different ensembles or as a sideman. He gained his experience playing in the band called Miłość, as well as Zbigniew Namysłowski quartet. He subsequently built a successful solo career (solo piano, duo, trio) presenting original pieces. Możdżer also plays interpretations inspired by the works of famous Polish composers, such as Frédéric Chopin, Witold Lutosławski and Krzysztof Komeda. He dedicated himself to Komeda’s music on his current studio album that was released under the ACT label. Możdżer gained important success in the field of theatre music, working for numerous productions in Poland.
